Brooklyn Nets Suspend Guard Kyrie Irving

The Brooklyn Nets has suspended guard Kyrie Irving for AT LEAST 5 games for failing to apology for tweeting the movie “Hebrews 2 Negroes: Wake Up Black America“. The movie to SOME is deemed anti-semitic and the Jewish community felt offended by Kyrie tweeting the movie. Amazon has received 0 backlash for selling the movie. While Kyrie did tweet it, he did not add any context to his tweet. Just the movie cover and the Amazon link. On 2 different occasions Kyrie said he is not anti-semitic. The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) wanted an “I’m sorry” or “I apologize”. Kyrie took responsibility and reiterated that he is not anti-semitic. The NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he would be making a visit to Kyrie Irving personally.

Kyrie and the Brooklyn Nets pledged 500k each to the ADL, but after Kyrie did not give the apology they wanted, he was then suspended at least 5 games without pay. The ADL also rejected the 500k he pledged. The Brooklyn Nets organization has also released a statement saying Kyrie is “unfit” to be associated with the team. After the suspension Kyrie released this statement via instagram.
